The ultimate reality-show star weighs like 200 pounds but is working on losing weight by crying and weighing himself on a giant scale in front of an audience of millions. He has a really orange tan too and a few visible muscles. He also can dance like Fred Astaire and sing like Whitney Houston. He is a superhuman who also evokes actual emotions in us because we also don't weigh what we'd like and we'd love to sing like that.
CMT recently announced that it would be creating a bunch of new reality-type shows (rebranding, we assume). One involves a guy named Dog, and one -- we're not kidding here -- set in Florida, is called Hillbillies for Hire featuring "professional pranksters," according to the Hollywood Reporter, and The Dirty South by Jersey Shore creator SallyAnn Salsano. We're serious here. But that's not all.
But the thing that caught our eye was The Cassadee Pope Project. It will track the whereabouts of West Palm Beach native and recent The Voice winner Pope as she skyrockets into superfamedom. Or becomes relatively more famous. We can't predict the future.
The Hollywood Reporter quoted CMT programming and development executive VP Jayson Dinsmore as saying, "We think there's something really valuable about a first-person account of the process of becoming a country star." And, as we've heard, country is the one genre that's thriving in the music industry. Soon Carrie Underwood'll be singing with Drake. Though we'd prefer it be Cassadee.
The show was apparently developed internally, and we're not sure exactly what it will entail. No idea what the date of the premiere is either. The only thing we do know is that we'll be watching every single freaking week.
