Chicago rapper/actor Common gave a talk at Florida International University's Biscayne Bay campus in North Miami Wednesday night. The visit was part of FIU's "The Effects of Hip-Hop on American Society" lecture series. As pointed out at The 305, the nattily dressed Lonnie Rashied Lynn laced together a local-bent freestyle during his appearance.

From his rap: "You should understand I do this even without a beat/ I came to Miami just to win like the Heat/ You know the name, brother Com Sense/ Call me Le Com James..." Okay, so it's not anything on par with "The Light" or "I Used to Love H.E.R.," but it still got plenty of howls and and cheers from the crowd. Watch below.
