Chris Carrabba's slingshot ride to stardom is streaking skyward as we speak. The leader of the Boca Raton-based Dashboard Confessional has already been plastered across a full-page fashion layout in Rolling Stone, and now Spin, Interview, Teen People, and Alternative Press are all lining up for a piece of the emo-acoustic troubadour. Dashboard Confessional's newest album, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, is a scalpel-sharp collection of songs that can come across like Fugazi as rendered by Simon and Garfunkel, and as scary as that sounds, it's a record that can truly be lived with, informing and illuminating every conceivable emotion. If you missed Carrabba's October performance on The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn, you missed seeing this terminally pretty boy trying his damnedest to look hard and crusty -- and failing miserably.
