Puerto Rican junk pop sensations Davila 666 are making a pit stop at Miami venue Churchill's Pub next week. They craft beautiful songs that echo some of the middle of last century's best American output. This is some of the best stuff to come out of the U.S. in the last little bit and the first stuff from P.R. that I have listened to since La Experiencia.  A lot of it is in Spanish, so I have a very limited understanding of the material content of the lyrics, but I can vouch for the hummability and the sweetness of the nah-nah-nah's. There won't generally be a language barrier for the rest of the crowd, though, since this is Miami after all.

The bill is pretty perfect and reflects Miami's little scene with our standouts the Jacuzzi Boys, Electric Bunnies, and Lil Daggers holding down the fort. The show is Tuesday, August 11 at Churchill's Pub (5501 NE 2nd Ave.) and it costs seven bucks.
