Science, or at least Google, now claims that eating turkey does not make you sleepy — which gives you one less excuse not to go party with your back-in-town friends on Thursday night.

As a bonus, here's one less excuse (think of it as your first Christmas or Hanukkah present) to help you cut to the chase and the booze after you've finished cutting the turkey. We've located the bars and clubs whose doors will be open for you to kick back and cut loose this Thursday.

Pawn Shop Lounge
219 Clematis St., West Palm Beach. Visit facebook.com/pawnshoploungewpb.

Pawn Shop Lounge will be celebrating its regular Hyde Thursdays, where there's no cover charge and ladies drink free. They're subtitling this Thanksgiving edition "Relative Relief," with DJ Legato playing the hits.

Red's Bar and Package
2610 N. Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors. Call 954-564-0233.

Not only will Red's have its regular hours on Thanksgiving, open from 7 a.m. on, but beginning at 1 p.m. until it runs out, it'll have a special $10-a-plate Thanksgiving dinner that includes turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pies, and all the fixings.

Respectable Street
518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach. Visit sub-culture.org.

If you can still fit into your flannels or Cross Colours after Thanksgiving dinner, head over to Respectable Street, where they'll be hosting Yo! Flaunt Jams: A '90s Thanksgiving. There's no cover charge, and DJs like Marvelous Kendall, J.J. Contramus, OZwaldus, Danxiety, and Stoop Kids will be spinning Coolio and Right Said Fred while you're pounding $2 PBRs and $3 shots.

Kim's Alley Bar
1920 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Visit facebook.com/kimsalley.bar.

Broward County's second-oldest bar will be open Thanksgiving at regular hours from noon to 3 a.m., with happy-hour specials until 7 and free darts, Ping-Pong, and pool until 8.

Propaganda Lake Worth
6 S. J St., Lake Worth. Visit propagandalw.com.

If you're feeling naughty, Propaganda will be your spot: It's hosting "Spanksgiving" this year, with the live reggae rock of LFTD LVLS and Space Coast Ghosts. There's a $5 cover charge, but ladies drink free cocktails all night, and everyone can enjoy $3 Red Stripes until midnight.

The Downtowner Saloon
10 S. New River Drive E., Fort Lauderdale. Visit downtownersaloon.com.

The football games on the big screens will be the main entertainment at the Downtowner, with full turkey dinners served from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a paltry $16.

Bimini Bay Bar
412 SE 32nd St., Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-768-0960.

If you're feeling in a communal mood, this is the spot for you. From 1 p.m. until 2 a.m., there will be a free potluck dinner to enjoy with your drinks. You are encouraged to get in the Thanksgiving spirit and bring your own delicious dish to share. So don't be like Uncle Mortie, who brought only his body odor to your family Thanksgiving.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
1 Seminole Way, Hollywood. Visit hardrocklivehollywoodfl.com.

If you're feeling lucky, the casino will be in full functioning form with the poker room, slots, and card tables all in effect. Make sure to pocket away $22.95 (plus a generous holiday tip) if you wish to partake in the blue-plate special Thanksgiving menu, served from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. All the restaurants and bars are open with entertainment, including Dale Powers performing at Council Oak Steaks & Seafood and Romina Gentilini at Kuro, both at 7 p.m.
