A nice way to view St. Patrick's Day is to consider it a celebration of luck. Even those who treat it as a celebration of booze are still celebrating the former on some level. Because, if you're in a position to pound a green beer, you are living the good life.

This past weekend's St. Patrick's Day Festival in Fort Lauderdale was a wonderful luckstravaganza. A mass of people cheering their own good fortune -- some more loudly than others. There were even lucky animals, horses with four leaf clovers stenciled onto their haunches and sparkling, green hooves. We offer you some of the tastiest luck-nuggets of the sunny day.

When asked if he would be getting lucky, Jose replied, smiling: "Who knows?" C'mon, Jose. Who doesn't know? The answer is YES.

Luck of the Irish in full force? Actually, this man is Scottish. "We don't have our own day to drink," he said. Fortunately, he is a master of disguise.

Folks were reminded how lucky they are to have trash receptacles.

This green shirted shredder was smiling about a car-free bridge for the day.

This battleship was blaring "Proud to Be an American." Which is awesome, but not so easy to jig to.

Battleships and camels on the same block?! What's next, a Sith lord and his posse?

Darth Vader even wears black when walking in a St. Paddy's parade. He was lucky enough not to get pinched.

The less powerful Stormtrooper was not taking any chances.

The Miami Dolphins and their fans are lucky enough at least to have some good seasons to look back on.

Some paraders celebrated much differently than others.

This girl (early for Ultra) discovered that bagpipe brigades are even cooler than dubstep rave DJs.

That beard! Those pants! This was a real game of "he or she?"

A lucky genetic situation. Presumably a hipster baby "he."

Everyone who witnessed the Boyd Anderson High School marching band jam out Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon," was in the right place at the right time. Jammin'!

Hooray for pride, as well as luck!

Nowhere better to declare the luck o' the Irish quite like the rear end of a horse.

And the horsey was rocking sparkling toenail polish for extra leprechaun power!
