5. Camel Toe at Poorhouse

11 p.m. Friday, September 4 at Poorhouse, 110 SW Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale. No cover. Visit Facebook

Come on out in your most unflattering pants! Funk band Camel Toe will be bringing down the house to kick things off on Friday. The band will play songs from its new album, so you'll get an exclusive listen.

4. Fort Lauderdale Beach Fest

Noon, Saturday, September 5, at Da Big Kahuna, Fort Lauderdale. 17 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Suite 308, Fort Lauderdale. $5 cover. Visit Facebook

Thanks to Dave Neri, Fort Lauderdale will be having a full day of kickass local music on Saturday. The Fort Lauderdale Beach Fest will feature Scott Becker, Quantum Waves, Space Hippy, Above the Skyline, and more. The party goes until 1 a.m., so there is bound to be at least one band you like. Attendees get one free shot with admission, access to raffles, and an all-you-can-eat buffet for $15. Deal!

3. Absent Hearts Grand Reopening

6 p.m. Saturday, September 5, at Absent Hearts Studios. 3685 Investment Lane, Riviera Beach. $10 cover. Visit Facebook

Thanks to Absent Hearts Studios and Distinguished Gentleman Booking, you can listen to seven bands for a mere ten bucks. The reopening of the studio necessitates a concert, of course, complete with local bands such as Settle the Tides, Back Home, and Intervention. If tropical storms decide to play nice, there will also be BBQ food available.

2. Jack Ryan Fest

7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 5, at Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Lauderdale, 3970 NW 21st Ave., Oakland Park. $10 cover. Visit Facebook

There's another fest on the list, but this time, it's a fundraiser. Featuring 1000 Pounds of Thrust and Black Sun Prophets, proceeds will fund Jessica Ryan (a member of the church where the event is taking place) on a trip to see her son Jack, who is diagnosed with childhood acute lymphocytic leukemia. Come on out for a great time but an even better cause.

1. Famous Monthly Tea Dance at Flip Flops Dockside Eatery

4 p.m. Sunday, September 6, at Flip Flops Dockside Eatery, 3051 NE 32nd Ave., Fort Lauderdale. No cover. Visit Facebook

You don't need to head into Lips for some damned good drag-queen entertainment. The hilarious Amanda Austin will host this event and will be accompanied by Willow Bierce Austin, Rianna Petrone, and Kataleya Davenport with plenty of music and inappropriate humor. There will also be music by DJ Silvio and $3 drinks. Did we mention there will be $3 drinks?
