Update 8/29/11: A new date has been announced!

Today has been filled with little other than perfectly rational South Floridians shaking their fists in disgust and yelling, "come on, Irene!" The threat of Hurricane Irene has claimed a serious musical casualty: Skullcandy's Identity Festival stop in Miami scheduled for Thursday, August 25 has been postponed and possibly canceled altogether.

The threat of inclement weather will not affect Identity's other Florida date in Tampa the day before, but since the tour heads drastically westward after Miami, a potential reschedule date that is supposed to be released Monday is not the most promising news. And if we're all underwater then, no one's going to be thinking about Skrillex, Kaskade, DJ Shadow, and Steve Aoki for at least a couple days and we'll need guides like this one.

Due to the potential effects of Hurricane Irene, the Thursday, August 25 date of the IDentity Festival presented by Skullcandy is being postponed.

Details regarding a potential reschedule date will be released on Monday, August 29 at 2PM Pacific Standard Time.

In the meantime, refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

IDentity is scheduled to perform as planned on Wednesday, August 24 in Tampa, Florida.

No other dates are affected.

In addition to yesterday's announcement, please note that all tickets for the Thursday, August 25 Miami date of Identity will be honored this Wednesday, August 24 in Tampa.
