You might have already heard a thing or three about the SW 3rd Ave Music Festival New Times Stage going on Friday evening in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Among the performers, all of whom have graced our pages over the years, is John Ralston. He's far from an old man, but the guy has taken part in many eras in South Florida music in his 33 years. On the strength of his spankin'-new collection, Shadows of the Summertime, we got him to open up about his past few years. Read our Q&A here.

Another local luminary of a different sort, Jimmy Pagano, has been on many folks' minds in the community after his tragic death trying to break up a bar fight at Fishtales. Here is a rundown of what happened to this drummer-promoter extraordinaire, and some information on an upcoming memorial concert.

Other concerts of note coming up include: Kylie Minogue at BankAtlantic Center, Shemekia Copeland at Bamboo Room, Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae at Fillmore Miami, Carolina Chocolate Drops at Culture Room, and Creedence Clearwater Revisited at Hard Rock Live.
