There was a time when men proudly sported tight, stonewashed jeans and had long feathered manes. A time before indie became a genre, when the gods of rock reigned supreme. Yes, it was a magical, legendary era called "The '80s." Once again, those bygone gods smile upon us as they combine the riffage and the rockage of AC/DC, Van Halen, Ozzy, and Led Zeppelin in one awesome night of Metal Legends. "Whole Lotta Rosie," "Whole Lotta Love," "Ain't Talking Bout Love..." To think that these bands would tour together is almost overwhelming. OK, so these aren't the original bands, but they are fantastic tribute bands. Probably. And as everyone knows, the difference between a tribute band and a mere cover band is that the former embodies every ounce of performance attitude and strut, while the latter merely does its best version of the songs. Pay tribute to the gods, people, and get some metal in your earhole.

Metal Legends play at 7 p.m. Friday, January 6, at Revolution, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets for the all-ages show cost $15. Call 957-727-0950.
