"I mean, it did happen and I'm taking full responsibility for it,
period. I just wanted an opportunity to come here and apologize to the
court," Jennings said.
Although Jennings had requested to spend some time with his children before beginning his three-and-a-half-year prison term, the judge said no dice. Many may remember that it was his spiritual rebirth following 10 years in prison for arson that launched his successful music career in the first place. As a result, all of Jennings' I Still Believe (ouch!) tour dates, including the October 9 stop at Revolution are cancelled.
During his trial, a prosecutor points out, "his story is not great anymore, he's back to being a criminal." Let us be the first to say that we'd love to hear a song describing that crazy night in Smyrna from his perspective, and it looks like he'll have the time he needs to write it.
