All you hardcore weekend warriors can just keep on keeping on, living "in the moment," and partying so unendingly hard that your eyes, teeth, and toenails hurt till Wednesday. Personally, I'm taking a fucking break.

Why? 'Cause I don't really give a shit about today, tomorrow, or the next day.

Every spoonful of my personal party juices is being saved for next Saturday when two of my favorite swampy shoegazey garage punk bands trundle into Dade County. No doubt you've already heard that hipster-heartthrobs No Age are headlining the noon-to-late-night birthday bash at Sweat Records. It's big, big news.

But you probably haven't heard about the post-Sweatstock parking lot rager set to star Toronto spook rockers Teenanger. (Two of the band's four members also run badass tape and vinyl label Telephone Explosion Records.) The party's gonna be called Midnight Madness and it's being organized by the always rad So Raw peeps. Local stage thugs Lil Daggers and Deaf Poets will be there too, supplying subtropical noise squalls.

That's 192 hours, though. Today, tomorrow, and the next are all about resting up. In short, it's a technique called Fun Abstinence. Try it. Your weekends may be less frequent, but they'll be way, way, way more intense.
