Surfer Blood is finally releasing its new EP, Tarot Classics, later this month. As was noted back in August, the pride and pomp of West Palm Beach's indie-rock scene will include several snazzy remixes in the expanded version of the release.
Expanded is the perfect word to describe the latest track to leak from the collection, the School of Seven Bells' remix of "Miranda," a new song. Meaning, with all of its shoegazey fuzz and cooing female backing vocals, this song sounds like the original went and dropped some brown acid. Nearly the only thing that remains from the hard-driving original is J.P. Pitts' vocals, but even those have been fed through a series of tubes to make him sound like a heartbroken robot.
Fortunately, the echo-chamber results do not disappoint. There is an exclusive download of the MP3 available here.
