Golden Underground and Conflict Rhymes, two of South Florida's rising hip-hop conglomerates, teamed up last night to bring female boom bap rapper Nitty Scott, MC to the Speakeasy Lounge in Lake Worth. The Michigan born, Florida raised emcee has been crafting her rhymes in Brooklyn since she left at the age of 17. Catching attention for her freestyles via the internet, Nitty officially arrived with the noteworthy 2011 mixtape The Cassette Chronicles.

Now in her early 20s, the young talent is coming to us following a memorable cypher at the BET Awards, as well as being featured on Lebron James' playoff mixtape. With socially conscious content that is more comparable to Nas than Nicki, Scott had something to prove for her first ever Florida performance.

As is often the case with the grassroots events put on by these two groups, the night kicked off with an open mic cypher session that saw a dozen local rappers throwing down written and freestyle verses over a variety of beats from local icon DJ DSmooth.

One of Palm Beach counties rising rap talents Eric Biddines made an impromptu guest appearance during the eclectic vocal presentation, and got the crowd's attention with a few verses before passing off the mic.

Next on deck was a solid opening set from Miami-based spitter Phresh James. For many, it was their first time catching Phresh this far North, and the short warm-up performance was a choice dose of crafted verse and new school sensibilities.

Following Phresh was one of Florida's own stand out female rappers Feeling the energy of the crowd late into the night, Scott told the us announced she was going to give us something special before debuting an unnamed track off her upcoming release.

After leaving the stage for the first time, the hyped audience willed her out for a much needed encore. After departing with some positive sentiments, she made her way to the back of the venue to mix it up with her fans.
