Besides this weekend being Father’s Day or just any ol’ weekend in South Florida, it’s the weekend of Lauderdale Live 2015. What is this type of festivity, you ask? It is three days bands playing at Huizenga Plaza. Bring Dad and tell him it’s a gift for him, but really, we know it’s all for you.

The event starts Friday with a VIP preparty from 7 to 10 p.m. Musicians include Ben Rector and American Idol winner Kris Allen. Leave the snacks at home – this party include free hors d'oeuvres and drinks. In addition, there will be a tour of one of Fort Lauderdale’s biggest and most pricey yachts, the 168-foot She’s a Ten. There will also be a surprise "house" concert taking place on the boat.

On Saturday, the night will be headlined by another American Idol winner, Phillip Phillips. The indie cutie has had songs featured on multiple television shows, such as Castle, Pretty Little Liars, The Neighbors, and One Tree Hill. Other accolades include nominations for the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and Teen Choice Awards and a spot in the Billboard Hot 100 for “Raging Fire.” Also performing on Saturday is Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors and Emily and Emily Kopp.

Sunday night finishes off strong with Of a Revolution, better-known as O.A.R. Since its inception in 1996, the alternative band has released eight studio albums. It'll be joined by '90s radio softies Sister Hazel (you know, "All for You"). Dumpstaphunk, Luke Wade, and The Voice’s Beverly McClellan will also be in tow.
