Initially, cable-subscribing stoners thought they'd been Punk'd when MTV knocked Celebrity Deathmatch out of its late-night lineup -- first in 2002, then again in 2007 for a short-lived revival.
But Ashton Kutcher had nothing to do with the decision to scrap the greatest claymation series since Gumby. Corporate suits, on the other hand, simply said no mas, inadvertently depriving future generations of the inevitable main-event bout between British boy bands One Direction and the Wanted.
The two groups are currently exchanging condescending tweets and low blows just as One Direction preps for the latest leg of its world tour, which kicks off at the BB&T Center on Thursday.

But One Direction diehards quickly joined forces to help trend #DirectionersLoveLouis on Twitter, displaying their unconditional devotion virtually for the British X Factor seventh-season third-place finishers.
The judges give this round to One Direction.
