Want to step in the name of love with R. Kelly? Details are still scant, but the R&B superstar is set to bring his classy self to South Florida for a weekend of high-end festivities around the state.
The events are billed "Black & White" parties because Kelly would like his audience to dress to impress, according to Ed Darling of Premiere Marketing Group, who is organizing the Fort Lauderdale stop at Revolution, which is set for Sunday, October 2.
Darling, who recently put on a Gucci Mane event over Labor Day Weekend at Revolution, says the venue will be decked out with VIP areas at various price points, and couches will be set up onstage -- so the opulence of the evening will be on high.
Stops are also planned for Orlando and Fort Myers leading up to this
one, but no ticket information has been published about either of those
dates.
Kelly recently announced that his next album, tentatively due out next year, will be titled Black & White Panties. And he's already calling it the new 12 Play. Whether it lives up to 2000's TP-2.com or even 2005's TP.3 Reloaded remains to be seen, but you can be sure that this is music with lyrical content that is better suited for Sunday after dark than Sunday morning. Regardless, leave the granny panties at home on the trip to Revolution.
The amount of R. Kelly performance time remains to be seen, but Darling confirms that Orlando R&B singer Michael Stokes will also be entertaining for the evening.
