Sometimes there are those nights when, despite hours of drunken debauchery, you're still not quite ready to admit defeat — you still have room for another cocktail or three before accepting tomorrow's inevitable hangover, or maybe you need to keep dancing to Robyn and forget the crappy week you just had. We're not knockin' our go-to establishments who shutter their doors at the respectable hour of 2 a.m. But who says the fun has to stop there?

While local lawmakers continue to look for ways to put the kibosh on our beloved after-hours
, we're keeping our fingers crossed and helping spread the good word. Here are 13 South Florida bars that have plenty of late-night, boozy fare to offer, from the mixology-centered to the utmost seedy.

Respectable Street

518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach 33401
Open until 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday
From Flaunt on Thursdays to karaoke on Saturdays, there’s always something happening at this famed hip Clematis Street spot to keep your night going strong.

O’Shea’s Irish Pub
531 Clematis St., West Palm Beach 33401
Open until 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday
It’s common practice to jump between here and Respectables on any given night. At O'Shea's, every Thursday is St. Paddy’s Day: Guzzle down some $3 Irish Car Bombs and play a game of beer pong on the spacious back patio.

Pirate’s Well Restaurant and Bar
9477 Alternate A1A, Lake Park 33403
Open until 5 a.m. Friday and Saturday
Pirate's is a hit with older, northern Palm Beach County locals, especially since it offers plenty of late-night munchies (the kitchen is open till 4 a.m.). Cheap beer is your friend here.

Sneakers Bar and Grille
331 N. Dixie Highway, Lake Worth 33460
Open 24 hours Friday and Saturday; open until 5 a.m. Sunday
Sure, it’s supersmoky in this downtown Lake Worth dive, but where else in the area can you get a drink (virtually) any time of day?

Elmo’s Rock Bar and Grill
9770 S. Military Trail, Boynton Beach 33463
Open until 5 a.m. seven days a week
Plenty of weeknight events (Tuesday-night karaoke, anyone?) bring out the loyal patrons and intriguing characters to this hazy Boynton Berach hideaway.

Tricky Dick’s Pub
9900 Sandalfoot Blvd., Boca Raton 33428
Open until 5 a.m. seven days a week
On one side, a package store. On the other, DJs spin old-school hip-hop and electronica, attracting a large crowd of 20-somethings partying into the wee hours.

O’Malley’s Sports Bar
1388 N. State Road 7, Margate 33063
Open until 4 a.m. Thursday through Saturday
Because there’s a shortage of late-night bars out in the ‘burbs, there are few better places in West Broward to grab a cold beer and boogie down.

Original Fat Cat’s
320 Himmarshee St., Fort Lauderdale 33312
Open until 4 a.m. seven days a week
A more casual alternative when you need an escape from Las Olas, this downtown mainstay features live reggae music on Wednesdays and provides plenty of opportunities for people-watching out on the sidewalk.

Stache 1920’s Drinking Den
109 SW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale 33301
Open until 4 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday
With an extensive craft cocktail list and special events featuring whiskey tastings, Stache has become one of the premier mixology havens in Broward County.

Poorhouse
110 SW Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale 33312
Open until 4 a.m. seven days a week
No frills or obscure themes here. Young patrons with stiff drinks and microbrewed ales can listen to various genres of live music, from reggae to acoustic rock.

Nick’s Bar and Grill
1214 N. Broadwalk, Hollywood 33019
Open until 4 a.m. seven days a week
While it provides fresh seafood during the day, this oceanside hangout turns into an all-night party on Hollywood Beach, offering beach-themed cocktails like the Key West Lemonade and the Dirty Banana.

The Room
100 Collins Ave., Miami Beach 33139
Open until 5 a.m seven days a week
A cozy spot reminiscent of New York City’s Lower East Side, the Room has a large selection of beers and wine and is a perfect place to wind down after a wild night on South Beach.

Bougainvillea’s Old Florida Tavern
7221 SW 58th Ave, Miami 33143
Open until 5 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday
This Old Florida-style spot holds it down in South Miami, featuring live jazz, R&B, Latin funk, reggae, and rock throughout the week, Bougie's has that warm, homey feel that gently encourages you to stay out a just for just one more drink, every time.
