All summer long I have gone shit-house-rat-crazy observing the likes of Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Karl Rove and the rest of The Right's evil elite dispense fear-mongering falsehoods in a desperate attempt to stop some much needed health care reform.

Death Panels. Euthanasia. Subsidized Abortions. Health care for non-U.S. Citizens and illegals. Every time I hear a GOP politician or pundit issue one of these malevolent fabrications -- or witness some Fox-watching waterhead repeat the party lie at a town hall meeting -- I feel ashamed that our populace has sunk to such a low level of common sense and decency.

When did ignorance become patriotic? Haven't these people heard of politifact.com? Or is it just simple hatred of President Barack Hussein Obama, a self-made man, who represents the new face of America -- and scares the shit out of the good old (white) boy club?

Just when I thought the Far Right couldn't piss me off anymore came the controversy over The President of the United Sates of America wanting to address the students of this nation with positive words about hard work and goal achieving -- something Obama knows more about than 99.9 percent of the population.

Leave it to a Sunshine Stater to rise as Fuck Head No. 1 in leading the charge against sanity. Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer declared "As the father of four children, I am absolutely appalled that taxpayer dollars are being used to spread President Obama's socialist ideology." Thanks to a ridiculously mighty push from The Right, countless schools -- including the "idiots at Miami-Dade County Public Schools" -- opted not to broadcast Obama's uplifting, completely innocuous speech Tuesday.

Obama wants to provide affordable health care and give students a pep talk. He's rewarded by a loud, vile mob comparing him to Hitler. Obama Haters. Goddamn it, man. Here are 10 songs just for you.

1. "Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother," Jerry Jeff Walker (written by Ray Wylie Hubbard)

Because, really, it all begins at home, right?

2. "Teach Your Children," Crosby, Stills and Nash

Forbid your child from hearing the President? Shameful. Let 'em listen and then discuss at home, dumbass!

3. "Ignorant Shit," Jay-Z

Two words that pretty much sum up all the anti-health-care-reform rhetoric being spouted by misguided morons at the town halls meetings.

4. "Liar, Liar," The Castaways

Is there any other way to describe Sarah Palin when she talks shit like seniors and the disabled "will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care." How do people take her seriously? The young woman dancing in this video like a slightly bouncier Britney Spears probably has a higher IQ.

5. "Conservative Christian, Right Wing, Republican, Straight, White, American Males," Todd Snider

Snider articulates what many of us feel about our polar opposites. "Gay bashin', black fearin', poor fightin', tree killin', regional leaders of sales," Snider sings. "Frat housin', keg tappin', shirt tuckin', back slappin' haters of hippies like me."

6. "Waves of Fear," Lou Reed

The GOP has mastered the art of fear warfare. People's willingness to play along scares me more than this bender from hell Reed's singing about.

7. "People Puttin' People Down," Bob Dylan

John Prine wrote this gem that applies to basically everyone on -- and who watches -- Fox News. Here's Bob Dylan covering the song at a concert in 1991. "All the people that don't fit," Dylan croaks, "get the only fun they get, from people puttin' people down."

8. "Highway to Hell," AC/DC

I'm not sure where Christ stands on a lot of issues but I'm pretty sure he's for universal health care -- and pretty pissed at those selfish bastards who so vehemently oppose it.

9. "You Racist Friend," They Might Be Giants

I don't want to pull a reverse Glenn Beck here, but come on, how many people, especially older folks, oppose Obama simply because of his skin tone?

10. "Rednecks," Randy Newman

I'll just quote the songwriter -- one of the greatest alive -- on this one in which he sings from the perspective of a proud Southerner in the 1970s: "We're rednecks, rednecks / And we don't know our ass from a hole in the ground / We're rednecks, we're rednecks / And we're keeping the niggers down."
