Boca Raton native Chris Carrabba and his band, Dashboard Confessional, gave back to the community with two passionate concerts on Friday at Lynn University. The evening started out with an intimate VIP performance for about 40 people in Lynn University's Schmidt Studio at Lynn's Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center. Carrabba played a couple of songs by himself, and then played the rest with his backup
guitarist, John Leffler. Some diehard fans even flew from New York for the experience.
Orlando's Mike Dunn and Lake Worth's John Ralston, both purposeful
singer-songwriters, properly set up Dashboard Confessional's
performance with the Lynn University Philharmonia in the Wold
Performing Arts Center's main space. The evening, attended by many
members of the Lynn community, featured Carrabba accompanied by the
orchestra, but also solo on on guitar and piano.
was his energetic, emotional self, and seemed charged by the
experience. In addition to staples like "This Brilliant Dance," "Saints
and Sailors," and "Hands Down," there were a few surprises, including a
cover of Cory Branan's "Tall Green Grass," featured below:
