Surf Rock may be more than 50 years old, but it's far from being a dead genre.
On the contrary, it's a style of music that has continually risen from its grave. It seems that every so often, small pockets of bands appear to twist and tweak it as they see fit. Some of the results have been strange, going from space-horror or alien invasion themes to brooding bedroom music, even making its way to Bollywood. It never disappoints, whichever incarnation it may come as.
Take a listen to this week's list of strange surf-inspired songs, as well as a few mainstays to balance it out. We invite our readers to visit out official 8tracks.com profile. Add us up, make your own, and catch a tube.
