This year marks the eighth edition of Steve Lawler's annual Lights Out WMC party, one of conference's most popular and bullshit-free parties. This year, the event was originally set to take place at Kore, on Washington Avenue -- but it's now been moved to Nocturnal. The warehouse-like downtown space is much more fitting for the party's rave-y vibe. Here's what Lawler's got to say about his musical plans for this year's event:

After 8 years of Lights Out at the Winter Music Conference, I believe the way forward for Lights Out is to go back to its original roots. I'll play an extended set where I am free to build the atmosphere of the night. Over the last few years I have selected friends and live PA's to showcase there talents, now that I have my Viva Music party for this function I can take Lights Out back to how I always envisaged it to be.

Clive Henry is back on board opening the room with his perfect deep, dark and brooding style.  I'm very excited that Lights Out will be going back to its original form...

Lawler plays from midnight to 4 a.m., followed by a two-hour set by Clive Henry. Nocturnal is at 50 NE 11th St., Miami. Doors open at 10 p.m., and admission is $35. Ages 21+ with ID. Limited presale tickets are available at www.wantickets.com/lightsout.
