Below the item about Sandra Bullock being "betrayed" by Ryan Reynolds but above the piece on Monica Lewinsky's "sad and lonely life" on the front page of the National Enquirer, there's a big old centerpiece on Casey Anthony's "secret escape to Mexico."

In typical Enquirer fashion, they completely made it up, but people still think it's true.

Apparently the Florida Department of Corrections has received enough inquiries on the subject that the agency had to reassure everyone that Anthony isn't on a beach in Cancun sipping margaritas.

Here's what the Florida DOC sent out on Twitter this morning:

Contrary to the tabloid story, Casey Anthony is NOT in Mexico, she's in Florida. #fldocless than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

People still seem to be obsessed with what she's doing, since the Florida DOC has been releasing regular updates about Anthony's probation stint:

In accordance with her court orders, Offender Casey Anthony reported to probation at 6 p.m. on September 1st, 2011. She was cooperative and answered all the questions of her probation officer.

She reported that she is currently unemployed and that she has not attended educational or vocational classes. She has not earned any income in the last 30 days according to her statement.

She told her probation officer that she has not consumed alcoholic beverages, used or bought illegal drugs or controlled substances. She reported that she has not been arrested nor had any contact with law enforcement during the last month.

Currently, no violations have been noted. As her probation continues, as is done with all offenders, her probation officer will encourage offender Anthony to explore her options as it relates to employment.

On a side note, according to Anthony's probation conditions, she's allowed to drink alcohol as long as she doesn't "consume alcoholic beverages to the extent that your normal faculties are impaired."
