Carolin Pawlak Mueller, a former nurse who followed a dream to become an advice columnist, passed away unexpectedly recently. Mueller was a Delray Beach resident who was well-known in South Florida both for her bubbly, contagious personality and for the cheery advice she gave on her new website.

Mueller gave up a career in nursing a year ago and, after a three-month vacation, decided to start a website dedicated to self-help and advice. She unveiled a redesigned askcarolin.com site recently and posted a video in July with her personal story that begins, "Hi, I'm Carolin. I'm here to talk about how your dreams come true."

Mueller was a regular at South Florida social events and was known for the black Lab, Bubba, that she often brought with her. She started a Facebook page for Bubba that has more than 600 friends. She sent "friend" requests to new acquaintances from Bubba and would add to the page with status updates like this one from Wednesday: "I had a wonderful day and I am filled with happiness and love tonight! My humans are so good to me!"
