Fort Lauderdale police are seeking the identity of a man dressed like a ninja who robbed a convenience store last Friday.
Police released a surveillance video of the masked man yesterday, hoping someone has information on the identity of the bandit who robbed Marina Discount Beverage on 2705 SW 15th Ave. around 9:45 in the evening with a gun.
From what you can see in the video, the thief was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black sneakers, and a black shirt over his face with the neck hole as eye slits. He also wore black shorts, because you never go full ninja on a convenience-store heist. Or maybe he was just hot and it was enough already with all the damned clothes.
According to a police report, the employee working that night told police the masked gunman came into the store, shouted "Give me the money," and then ordered him at gunpoint to open the cash register. He then told the clerk to lie down on the floor as he emptied the register before fleeing, presumably to TJ Maxx to buy some pants.
Police are asking anyone with info about this case or the pantless ninja's identity to contact Fort Lauderdale Police Detective Orlando Almanzar at 954-828-5546.
