James Jackson's 89-year-old legally blind mother said some mean things about his friend.
So the 52-year-old Jackson responded in the most reasonable way possible.
He walked into her Fort Lauderdale apartment bedroom and punched her in the face.
According to police, Idella Boyd said she and her son began arguing over an acquaintance of his she didn't care for.
The argument quickly escalated inside her apartment and into her bedroom. That's when Jackson allegedly punched her.
Idella, who says that James "was raised in the church," says she was shocked he would do such a thing to his own mother.
Ahh, moms!
Prosecutors, however, weren't so shocked. They told Judge Ellen Feld on Tuesday that Jackson has had prior convictions for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony battery causing great harm.
Jackson was ordered held without bond on a probation violation by Feld. He was also told not to have any contact with his mother if allowed bond.
He was charged with battery of a person 65 years of age or older and domestic violence.
"He slapped me on the face and knocked me down and locked me where I couldn't come out. I was hollering and hollering," Idella told CBS4.
