Make room in Broward for one more bowtie-wearing senior. Justice John Paul Stevens announced this morning his retirement from the U.S. Supreme Court, just 11 days shy of his 90th birthday.
As Juice reported in October, Stevens is a snowbird, migrating every November to his winter home on the Fort Lauderdale coast. The leader of the court's liberal voting bloc starts every morning with a leisurely swim in the ocean.
The announcement has been expected for some time. Here's some legal analysis courtesy Andrew Cohen of The Atlantic. And in anticipation of the Stevens announcement, Business Week made a list of possible nominees by the Obama administration.
