The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a man authorities say jumped off a cruise ship 25 miles off Ponce De Leon.

A 31-year-old gent, who was last seen on the cruise ship Carnival Fascination by a security guard, is said to have been seen plummeting into the water this morning.

Crew members aboard the ship reported the incident to the Coast Guard at 2:09 a.m. Tuesday via VHF-FM marine radio.

The guard reported that he saw the man leap from the tenth deck, approximately 87 feet, into the ocean.

The Carnival Fascination departed the cruise terminal from Jacksonville about 5 p.m. Monday en route to Key West.

The Coast Guard currently has three ships, a motorized life boat, and a helicopter searching the waters off Ponce De Leon.

The man's name is not being released at this time.
