Former World Series MVP and performance-enhancing drug user Manny Ramirez was arrested in Weston yesterday on a domestic-violence charge.
According to a police report released late last night by the Broward Sheriff's Office, Ramirez's wife called the cops around 4:30 p.m., saying Ramirez had hit her in the face and caused a bump on her head.
Juliana Ramirez told the cops her husband had slapped her in the face with an open hand, causing her head to hit the headboard of the bed behind her, the report says.
Juliana Ramirez told police she called the cops immediately because she "was afraid that the situation might escalate further," police say.
Manny Ramirez told police that during the argument, he was holding his wife by her shoulders, and as she shrugged him off, she accidentally fell backward and hit her head.
Regardless, the cops say Manny -- once suspended by the MLB after testing positive for a women's fertility drug -- was the primary aggressor in the incident and was arrested.
Ramirez, now 39, was still being held in the Broward County Jail as of around 11:15 p.m. yesterday.
