Just when you thought you'd heard the most far-fetched ideas from GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann during her trip to Florida, she struck again.
Tampa Bay's 10 News published its lengthy interview with Bachmann on Thursday in which she expands on her idea to drill for oil and natural gas in the Everglades.
Now Bachmann says that all the people who think her idea to drill the Everglades sucks -- which is just about everyone -- are just "radical environmentalists."
Forget the geologists who say there's no evidence a substantive amount oil is underneath the Everglades; Bachmann told those so-called experts what's up.
"The radical environmentalists put up one roadblock after another to
prevent accessing American energy," she said.
All those damned radical environmentalists happen to include scientists, former President George W. Bush, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Rep. Allen West, and many, many others.
West had called Bachmann's idea an "incredible faux pas" and said, "When I see her next week, I'll straighten her out about that."
He'll have to make a pretty convincing argument to Bachmann, who once claimed that Terry Shiavo was "healthy."
