Gov. Rick Scott's prediction that Herman Cain would become the next president of the United States didn't quite come true.
Cain announced this weekend that he was "suspending" his presidential campaign after yet another woman decided to go public about her encounters with him -- this time, a woman alleging a lengthy extramarital affair with the former Godfather's Pizza CEO.
We'd just like to remind everyone that the governor predicted Cain would be the next president.
The governor went on Fox News the week before Florida's Presidency 5 straw poll, declaring that whoever won the straw poll would be the next president.
"I personally believe whoever wins that straw poll, they will be the next president of the United States," Scott said.
With 37 percent of the straw-poll votes, that was Cain.
Cain actually got more votes than Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney combined, who garnered 15 percent and 14 percent, respectively, in the September poll.
The governor hasn't endorsed a presidential candidate, although he's guaranteed the Republican nominee's going to win the White House.
That's probably good news for President Obama's reelection bid.
