The Miami Dolphins Should Tank the Rest of This Season

It's time for Dolphins fans to argue about whether the team should tank to gain a higher draft pick. 
The debate is heated. One side is thinking long-term, while those on the other side insist they are better fans. 

So would the Dolphins be better off losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday? I say yes. Disagree? I don't care. I will fight you in a cul-de-sac. 

The Dolphins are a trash-ass football team full of bad football players. This is indisputable. If the team is to begin rebuilding from the bottom up, it needs to start acquiring the best assets, not some mediocre ones. More midround draft picks are not going to drastically change this team. More off-season spending sprees for used gems someone else was willing to let go of for a reason are not going to fix the Dolphins. More shuffling is definitely not going to work.

The only way the Dolphins are ever going to get better is if they shake the Etch-a-Sketch and start over — all the way over, not partially over. That means parting with players like Mike Pouncey, who might be good now but won't be part of the plan when the Dolphins are in a position to contend for a Super Bowl. 

As of today, the Dolphins own the third-overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. If they beat the Steelers on Sunday, that pick could fall to the 18th selection. With only a handful of impact players and only one of two first-round worthy quarterbacks available, it's vital the Dolphins go down easy. Beating the Steelers will not help the Dolphins' chances moving forward. It will only prolong the agony the fans have been going through that much longer. 

It's time for Dolphins fans to learn from the Andrew "Suck for Luck" Luck failure and realize that it's OK to want the team to bottom out in the name of becoming a perennial winner in the near future. This team is terrible, so let's root for them to be really terrible.
