If you're driving down A1A between now and 8 p.m. you may want to know that the Fort Lauderdale Police Department is conducting a traffic safety checkpoint.
The checkpoint is located at the 2500 and 2600 blocks of North Ocean Boulevard, A1A.
Fun!
The checkpoint began at 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and will go on until 8.
One northbound traffic lane will be closed as vehicles will be systematically selected.
Have your driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance at the ready, as cops will be checking.
Officials are not expecting any serious traffic delays and expect the checkpoint to go smoothly.
But you should still try to avoid the area, if you can.
Unless sitting in slow-moving traffic for a long time is totally your thing.
