Monday marked the start of hurricane season in South Florida, but it seems a few youngsters in the region couldn't wait for an actual hurricane to start the looting. BSO reports:
Last night, at approximately 2:42 am, Deerfield Beach Deputies responded to Deerfield Beach Elementary in response to a silent alarm.UPDATE: BSO just sent out a news release on the case claiming the suspects admitted to committing a theft at the school a week before, when the alarm wasn't working. It had since been repaired. Returning to the scene of the crime: another amateur mistake. The report lists the suspects and their ages -- 15, 16, 17 and 22. You lads better study, because you're not cut out to be criminal masterminds.
Upon arrival, a perimeter was established while a helicopter and K9 were deployed. Deputies spotted four juveniles fleeing the compound on foot and apprehended all of them without incident.
Recovered from the perimeter were 31 computers the suspects had removed from the school.
All suspects were charged with Burglary and the computers were returned to the school.

Four Palm Beach County suspects are in custody after breaking into a Deerfield Beach elementary school for the second time to steal laptop computers.
The first incident occurred over the Memorial Day weekend. On Tuesday, May 26, a Deerfield Park Elementary maintenance worker returned to work after the long weekend to find that one of the classrooms had been burglarized. The thieves broke into the room, pried open a locked cabinet, and got away with nine Apple iBooks, valued at almost $2,000 each.
Fast forward one week. At around 3 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, the burglars decided to try their luck a second time at the same place. They showed up at the school, once again broke into a classroom and stuffed 31 iBooks into bags. As they stood in the parking lot of the school loading a van with the merchandise BSO deputies responding to a silent alarm pulled up and startled the group. The men led deputies on a foot chase, but were quickly apprehended.During the first burglary, the alarm system was not activated because it needed repairs. The thieves didn't know it had been fixed and was working by their second visit.
The suspects admitted to being involved in both burglaries and face several charges including grand theft, burglary, obstruction without violence and possession of burglary tools.
