All this worrying about serial cat killers and serial horse killers has led us to overlook the very serial nature of how lawn-care equipment has been vanishing from North Palm Beach County.
The latest one occurred before dawn broke, between 4:40 and 5 this morning at the Lake Worth Public Works Department at 650 Dixie Highway. From the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office:
Two males were observed on video, inside the gated property. A vehicle, possibly a dark colored truck was observed parked to the south of the property. Two males jumped the fence to get into the compound. One inside, the subjects burglarized three enclosed trailers, by cutting the side door latch. A large quantity of lawn maintenance equipment was stolen, to include weed eaters, edgers, blowers, and chain saws.These burglars feel no compunction about stealing one of God's trucks if it can aid a burglary, as we described in this post. And the PBSO release says these aren't the only incidents.

Over the past month, there have been several similar burglaries, in PBSO and other jurisdictions, in the north end of the county, where large quantities of lawn maintenance equipment have been stolen. These areas also include Jupiter Farms. As a result of the burglaries over $150,000 in property has been stolen.
