As a countdown to the Best Of Broward/Palm Beach 2012, coming in June, Clean Plate Charlie is serving up a hundred of our favorite dishes in South Florida. Send your own nominations here.
By definition, this dish sounds like the culinary equivalent of watching a busboy slowly drop a load of wine glasses. Let's go through the ingredients real quick: field greens, pickles, blueberry teriyaki sauce, cream sauce, and peppered tuna. Why this all works, why this all comes together, is a mystery as great as how Capt. Charlie's pulls off these kinds of dishes so
often. Somehow, the Asian-style pickles and the teriyaki in the
blueberries mate to become a perfect accoutrements to the spicy tuna.
It's a bizarre list of ingredients, and somehow, it creates a tremendous
dish.
