It has been a good year for Rok:Brgr Burger Bar and Gastropub. Accolades have been rolling in, including winning Best New Restaurant in Broward from New Times and a People's Choice award at the Riverwalk Trust Burger Battle.

So you can see why the folks at Rok:Brgr are ready to celebrate. They will be throwing a one-year anniversary party from 8 p.m. to close December 14. The festivities include live music, a DJ, a photo booth, a red carpet, and, best of all, an open bar for those who RSVP in advance.

Owner Marc Falsetto said he had hoped

his burger bar concept would work, but he hadn't imagined the success it

has seen. He says they've cooked up 107,000 burgers, used 125,000

pounds of beef, gone through 109,000 pounds of cheese, and sliced 87

tons of potatoes.

"A lot of people open restaurants, and eight

out of ten of them go bad," Falsetto said. "You can have a great idea,

spend a lot of money, and nobody goes. It's just a relief that it worked

out really well."
