Publix is opening a 28,000 square-foot store in Lake Worth on April 28th. The store, located on Dixie Highway between Second and Third Avenue is designed to look like classic Publix stores.

The store will employ about 100 people, and has been staffed with current Publix employees from other outlets. People wishing to apply for employment with Publix can fill out an application at their local Publix.

The existing Lake Worth Publix at The Town & Country Shopping Center will remain open even after the new location is up and running.

The Lake Worth Community Redevelopment Agency helped bring this new Publix to downtown and chipped in $500,000 for public improvements around the new store, including water and sewer lines, sidewalks, bicycle racks and landscaping.

The store will have a grand opening ceremony at 8:00 a.m. on April 28th.
