Here's a scoop: Baskin-Robbins is selling scoops of ice cream for $1.31 on October 31, which also happens to be Halloween. No tricks, just all treats during this All Hallow's Eve.

It's not like the ice cream chain is giving ice cream away like candy. Imagine if that were the case: the long lines, the costumes, and the possibility of Baskin-Robbins running out of ice cream. The horror.

The promotion is a part of the chain's Celebrate 31 promotion. Other than the ice cream, Baskin-Robbins is introducing its Halloween Oreo cookie cake and a Piñata Pumpkin Patch cake, which looks like a jack-o'-lantern, and it's filled with candy.

Baskin-Robbins is holding a contest whereby people will have to guess how many pieces are inside a Piñata Pumpkin Patch cake, a picture of which they'll post on Facebook and Twitter.

They have to tweet @BaskinRobbins with the hashtag #BRCakePromotion or guess on Facebook by commenting on the post. The contest ends on Halloween.

The winner gets $500 worth of gift cards to buy free ice cream cakes for a year. Ten runners-up will get $31 Baskin-Robbins gift cards.

The offer is good at participating restaurants, so you might want to check first before going.
