Consider the humble penny. This small object that has Honest Abe Lincoln's profile on it may be the going rate to find out what's going on inside your brain, but that's just about all it can buy these days. Or is it?
At Whole Foods Market Coral Springs this Friday, July 19, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., a penny can actually buy you an ice-cold brewski.
Just buy any item from the store's pub menu at the bar and you'll get a draft beer for 1 cent!
But wait, you say. You didn't know Whole Foods Market in Coral Springs had a bar? And pub grub? Well, it does, my friend. And it not only serves good food and wine but it offers a robust selection of craft beers, including Native Lager, Dogfish Head Positive Contact, Due South Brewing Honey Wheat, Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale, Cigar City Jai Alai IPA, Sierra Nevada Belgian Blonde Ale, Delerium Tremens, and Crispin Dry Cider.
As for the food? There are personal pizzas ($5.99), cheeseburger sliders ($6.99), firecracker wings ($4.99), Southwest egg rolls ($5.99), crab cakes ($9.99), and wraps ($7.99). Vegans can chow down on vegetable egg rolls ($5.99) or a portobello burger ($8.99).
The pub, by the way, is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. So when you tell your significant other you're just running to the store, you're being totally honest as you hoist a cold pint of Due South and bite into your firecracker wings!
