For those of you not satisfied with Bravo's selection of food shows -- Top Chef, Top Chef Masters, Top Chef Just Desserts, and Rocco's Dinner Party come to mind -- the people at the reality television network have heard your prayers... sort of.

Around the World in 80 Plates is the working title of the new show, in which "up-and-coming chefs travel to various countries to test their skills in some of the greatest and most challenging restaurants around the globe."

Each week, those wacky cheftestants (will they steal that term from Top Chef?) will learn the local cultures and cuisines as they participate in culinary challenges.

We're predicting a lot of bug-cooking challenges, as well as the high jinks and hilarity that ensue when American chefs encounter language and culture barriers (imagine the fun when the chefs try to make a nice bacon-infused pork butt in, say, Israel or Pakistan).

All in all, things could be worse. After all, Bravo could have announced Real Housewives of the Kitchen, in which spoiled women who have been pulled too tight by their cosmetic surgeons attempt to actually boil an egg without the assistance of numerous servants.
