Every year, mall Santas step up to do their Santa duty. They sit on their Christmas throne and ask the little children on their laps what presents they'd like to have, then snuggle up for a photo.
Possible pedos aside, we feel bad for the true Santas. I mean, who knows how many of those kids are nervous pee-ers?
So it will be a nice change for the Galleria Mall Santa to get to walk among his fans and enjoy a holiday breakfast.
The Capital Grille will play host to the man in red
on November 20. And the Fort Lauderdale Firefighters will escort him in
for a grand entrance. Does the big guy deserve anything less? After all,
he's wearing a furry suit in Florida.
Buffet breakfast begins at
9 a.m. Then after the kiddies have eaten and opened their party
favors, Santa will arrive by firetruck promptly at 10 a.m. accompanied
by Holiday tunes provided by the Cardinal Gibbons Marching Band.
That
may seem like a lot of fanfare, but Santa always goes the extra mile
when it comes to children. Proceeds from his breakfast appearance will
go to benefit the Jack & Jill Children's Center
to help support Broward County's underprivileged children. Admission is
$25 per person, with children under two getting in free. Reservations
are required and should be made in advance, because seating sells out
early.
But even if you can't make it to "Breakfast with Santa"
all is not lost. Santa will be seated in his usual spot in the mall's
east wing for the remainder of the holiday season hearing Christmas
wishes and posing for pics - even with the nervous pee-ers.
