The "fast casual" segment of the local restaurant market just keeps on growing with the opening earlier this week of a new Chipotle Mexican Grill (4220 N. State Road 7, 954-960-4000) in Coral Springs and the debut next week of another Sweet Tomatoes (1100 N. Congress Ave., 561-369-0666) in Boynton Beach.

The Coral Springs' Chipotle is the 19th in South Florida and features all the chain's popular dishes, from burritos to salads, made with naturally raised pork, beef and chicken, and a fair percentage of organically grown produce.

Boynton's Sweet Tomatoes formally opens Monday, Nov. 8, with a  45-foot salad bar boasting more than 100 assorted salads, soups, baked goods, et al. To benefit United Way of Palm Beach County, it's holding a pre-opening fundraiser that lets you scarf up all those salads 'n' stuff for a mere $5. Hours are Friday, Nov. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
