Downtown Delray Beach borrows a bit of New Orleans festivity with Art & Jazz on the Avenue on August 20. Five blocks of Atlantic Avenue will be shut down for the family-friendly event, where revelers can enjoy live jazz from bands including Strictly Business and A'rizn. The event also showcases special art exhibitions at local galleries, and many downtown restaurants and shops offer specials for the entire night.

If you want to escape the sweltering August heat, head over to The Blue Fish to

order a cold plate of sushi. The restaurant will offer 23 items for

less than $5, including sushi rolls and sashimi. Sake specials start at

$1.

Other specials include 20 percent off your bill at Gol! The Taste of

Brazil or 10 percent off at Mellow Mushroom and Ziree Thai and Sushi.

Check out this flier for more deals. Art & Jazz on the Avenue runs from 6 to 10 p.m., and admission is free.
