David Manero -- the man behind Vic & Angelo's, DeVito South Beach, and the Office -- is officially getting in on the burger game. The successful restaurateur even has national plans for his latest concept.

His new restaurant, called BurgerFi, will bring burgers and all their fixins to Commercial Boulevard and A1A in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea -- an intersection ripe for some good, quick food. As Manero himself explains it, the name is short for "The Burgerification of America." (That's sounds like both a motivation and a goal.)

BurgerFi won't be your ordinary burger joint. Expect an all-natural menu of gourmet burgers made from grass-fed, hormone-free beef. The restaurant will feature fast service and a sleek "urban design." To go with the burgers will be a lineup of typical accompaniments, from fries to milk shakes and everything in between. Manero hopes to develop BurgerFi into a franchise and take it national.

The restaurant will move into and completely renovate the old Burger King location at 4343 N. Ocean Dr., Lauderdale by the Sea. For all the active beachgoers at this busy intersection, at least, this all-natural burger spot might just hit the spot. An exact opening date is not yet known.

We'll have more on BurgerFi in the near future.
