Bob and Wilson's is the must-have stop for breakfast and lunch in Fort Lauderdale. Serving simple but excellent deli fare, it's a little taste of an authentic New York-style deli in South Florida. From the hot lunch specials that rotate daily to the fresh soups and salads, you're sure to find something on the menu to fill you up -- and leave your wallet full, as well.

To make this place even better, today they're our Deal of the Day, where you can get $8 worth of food and drink for half-price.

Perhaps you might want to stop in for breakfast, served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., where you can get an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel or Cuban bread ($2.95), with ham or bacon ($3.95). Another house specialty, served all day: the home-made individual quiches -- like ham and swiss, spinach and feta, or broccoli and cheddar    ($4.95 each).

Bob and Wilson's is perhaps best known for its soups and sandwiches -- and here you'll get nothing but options, options, options. Each sandwich comes served on your choice of NY Rye, Boston Scali Roll, Chibatta, or Whole Grain Roll, and comes with chips, cole slaw or potato salad and a deli pickle. Charlie suggests the hot NY corned beef ($7.75) with melted swiss cheese. For a Rueben, add $1. Feeling especially hungry? Add double meat another $2.50.

There's also a variety of homemade soups, including the daily favorites always available: Chicken Noodle and Beef Chili. Monday's feature Beef Barley; Tuesday is Leek and Potato; Wednesday is Tomato; Thursday is Split Pea and Friday is New England Clam Chowder ($3.95).

If you're in need of a sweet ending, give the Pina Colada Fruit Salad ($2.95) a try: seasonal fruit swimming in sweet pineapple-coconut juice. Better yet, try a slice of their homemade cheesecake topped with strawberries.
