The second film in the Hobbit trilogy, The Desolation of Smaug, is set for a December 13 release date and Denny's is looking for the ultimate Hobbit fan.

If you converse in fluent Elvish and have your home decorated in "early Shire," this contest is for you.

From now through October 31, Hobbit fans are asked to upload a one-minute video to dennysfanquest.com, explaining why he or she should be named Middle-earth's greatest fan. Academy Award-winning filmmaker and Hobbit-master Peter Jackson will personally choose the winner, who will receive a trip for two to attend the film's world premiere screening including airfare for two, two nights in a hotel, two tickets to the world premiere, and $500 spending money.

Four runner-ups will receive free Denny's Grand Slams for one full year -- perfect for first or second breakfast ($400 value). For complete rules click here.

In addition, Denny's is launching a new Hobbit-inspired menu filled with, well, Hobbit-friendly food, starting November 5. The menu hasn't been finalized yet, but expect Middle Earth pancakes, Grand Slams, and shakes -- all with adorable names.
