Beer, beer, and more beer - if there's anything else on the menu this weekend, you'd be hard pressed to find it in this listing. OK, not true; there are several foodie events that don't focus on barley and hops, but the overriding theme this weekend is certainly on brews. Without further ado, here is a look at ten drink and food events this weekend in Broward and Palm Beach Counties:

Tonight:

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino food truck rally -- Nearly 30 trucks -- including a special  debut of Bite GastroTruck -- are expected to roll out for tonight's rally from 5:30 to 10  in the casino's parking lot. Parking is free, but bring cash for the grub.

Biergarten Boca Raton now open -- Boca's newest beer hub is open for business, just in time for the Oktoberfest shenanigans you know you've been waiting for. The garten has tons of craft beer on draft and in bottles -- several of which hail from Germany, of course -- and food. Biergarten Boca Raton is open 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday and 11 a.m. to midnight Monday.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Fundraiser at WOB in Coconut Creek -- World of Beer in Coconut Creek will donate a portion of proceeds from specified beer sales to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation between 6 and 8 p.m. Raffles and other fundraiser related activities also are planned.

Friday:

Oktoberfest in Oakland Park -- Must. Resist. Urge to say something jokey about lederhosen, dirndl...You get the picture. Every beer and brat fan's favorite month is just about here and October is awash in Oktoberfest, starting with the two-day Oktoberfest in Oakland Park. The fun lasts 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday.

The Art of Brew -- This interactive art event, co-sponsored by B.R.E.W. F.I.U., also will include craft beer and food from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Projects Space, 519 NW 1st Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $30. Learn more about B.R.E.W. and the event's goals at the Art of Brew event site

Saturday:

Freaks and food trucks -- The Lizard Man -- not to be confused with the Lizard King (whipper-snappers, ask your parents) -- will be a featured performer in the HellzaPoppin sideshow extravaganza at the Seminole Casino in Hollywood. The evening of outsider human art will be complimented by a food truck rally featuring 20 gourmet trucks from Miami Food Trucks. Three free shows are offered at 6, 8 and 10 p.m. and the trucks will stick around from 6 to 11 p.m.

Kick-off to Dine Out Lauderdale -- Today marks the official start of Dine Out Lauderdale, the six-week dining promotion throughout Broward County wherein you can grab a $35 three-course meal at more than 40 participating restaurants. The menus are prix fix, so the quality of the deal can really vary from venue to venue; peruse the restaurant's website and menu before heading out. Clean Plate Charlie will be giving you the scoop in the coming weeks on who's got the most promising deals and who's offering "meh" meals that don't really measure up to the $35 benchmark. Note; though the promotion starts today, many places won't let you cash in on the deal on weekend nights, so read up before you head out.

WOBtoberfest Block Party -- The Coconut Creek World of Beer hosts an Octoberfest-themed block party from 5 p.m. to close with live music and dirndl girls; beers and boobs, what more could you want?

Sunday:

Oktoberfest in Fort Lauderdale -- This short and sweet fest will feature traditional food and brew from noon to 3 p.m. at the Plaza 3000 parking lot at 3000 N. Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale.

Food truck event at Mounts Botanical Garden -- Dine al fresco at this Gourmet Truck Expo event from noon to 7 p.m. at Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach. There is a $5 suggested donation to attend, plus the cost of food and drink.
