The Miami Dolphins are in a bad place — a place one tends to be in the days following a loss to the putrid Jacksonville Jaguars — and life isn't about to get any easier with the Buffalo Bills heading into town. You can be sure the Dolphins are studying up on their divisional opponent extra hard this week as they look to avoid falling into a 1-2 hole to begin the season.

The Dolphins know the only way to prepare oneself for a worthy opponent is to get to know them like the back of their hands. So, being the good Dolphins fans we are, we need to follow their lead and do the same. Starting this week we will take a weekly look at the restaurant and bars where thy enemy fans eat and drink, so we know what we are up against here.

(Or hell, maybe you're a transplant and root for the opposing team. That's fine. Just know we're judging you. We're judging.)

This week we spotlight City Pub in Deerfield Beach, home of the South Florida Bills Backers. Here, a ridiculously large group of Buffalo Bills fans congregate each and every week to cheer on their beloved Buffalo Bills.

The Bills fans that aren't heading out to Sun Life to watch the Bills lose to the Dolphins will be dining on some good-old-fashioned bar food at City Pub. The specialty here is obvious when you open the menu, as City Pub dedicates an entire page of a menu to Philly cheesesteaks. Bills fans can order them the traditional way — Cheez Whiz and all — or they can get all crazy and add things like pepperoni or bacon. City Pub also offers their own personalized takes on the Philly classic in their signature-section.

South Florida Bills Backers president Sean Hanrahan tells the New Times City Pub offers a "Beef on Weck" sandwich, along with a few other Buffalo-themed items during the games. "Beef on Weck is sort of a French Dip type sandwich. The meat on the sandwich is thin cut roast beef, with the top bun getting a dip au jus. Also, they serve traditional Sahlen’s hot dogs with Weber’s Mustard."

According to Hanrahan there are more than 700 members in his crew, of which 200 to 300 take in the game every week at City Pub. The atmosphere, as you can imagine, is definitely pro-Buffalo Bills. "They play the Buffalo Shout Song after every touchdown, and we have loud speakers set up during the game — the fans go nuts during the game."

So there you have it — Buffalo Bills fans have firmly implanted themselves right here in Deerfield Beach. Depending on what team you're rooting for on Sunday, you know know where to go or where not to go for the big game.

City Pub is located at 956 S. Federal Hwy., Deerfield Beach. Call 954-427-8213, or visit citypubdeerfield.com.
