Is it a country bar? A restaurant, karaoke lounge or nightclub? From country to rock 'n roll, the new West Palm Beach establishment is actually a little bit of everything. Following in the footsteps of the original Tequila Cowboy location located off Nashville, Tennessee's world-famous Broadway, where a variety of honky-tonk music venues make it possible for locals to enjoy live music year-round, here you'll get more than your average country bar.

Tequila Cowboy, which opened August 7 in City Place, is the second location for the one-stop party spot Nashville has already known for years. Five venues in one, there's everything from bar and restaurant, to dance floor and nightclub, country bar bull riding and karaoke lounge -- all wrapped into one location. Its creators want you to think of the sprawling 20,000-square foot space as your main destination for a night out. The decor is Americana funky, including two 8-foot guitars, giant wrought-iron red lips, colorful murals and an old Chevy delivery truck hanging in the center of the main bar.
The main attraction here is the music, and the establishment's dance floor welcomes live music acts weekly that come to rock it out for a venue that looks like a cross between a nightclub and country bar thanks to a combination of 20 HD televisions and laser light show. There's also a game room where you can shoot pool, or watch the game, and the VIP room can host a variety of private events. In Nashville, Tequila Cowboy has the only mechanical bull on Broadway -- and we guess you can say the same for the West Palm location. Last, Tequila Cowboy has its own separate karaoke bar, Wannabe's, which offers more than 300,000 songs to choose from.
The menu handles standard American grub given a Tex-Mex twist, like chipotle BBQ meatballs, chicken tequila tacos, beef and queso flatbread, and a chipotle BBQ pulled pork sandwich ($7.25-$12). If you're really hungry, the beast-sized burgers include a few variations with turkey, or even the meatless burger made with black beans, jalapeño, salsa, beets, onions and carrots. The "big plates" include sirloin steak, ribs and shrimp macaroni and cheese platter ($16-$22). If prime rib is your thing, we suggest the dinner special, served every Wednesday; for $19.95 you'll get the dish, plus one of the bar's Music City margaritas or glass of house wine, served from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There's even one of those awesome eating challenges: scarf down a serving of eight wings in eight minutes -- or their two pound burger assembled with pulled pork, bacon, provolone cheese and Fritos in 20 minutes -- and you get it for free.
Of course, with a place this big you'd expect a drink menu to match. Here, the drinks have their own book with a list that encompasses wine, craft beer, specialty cocktails, a list of shots, margaritas and mojitos -- and specials from the tequila bar. Listed under "shiners" you'll also find Ole Smoky moonshine straight from Tennessee, six varieties including apple pie, blueberry and white lightening (the "mixing" moonshine you use in place of vodka, rum or tequila to make drinks like moonshine margaritas and mojitos).
